Seven yrs after the black out
Exactly 7 years ago yesterday , Toronto and some other North America cities were plunged into total darkness .
It began @ about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I was still @ work and didn't give it much thot for power outage is not unusual in city of Toronto . But after 2 hours had gone and the power still had not been restored, my clients and co-workers began to suspect that maybe something bigger was afoot . So one of my clients went out to the parking lot and turned on his car radio to see if he could learn anything about the lack of power. He found out this was not just a local blackout , but a wide spread one . The radio stations were having trouble gathering information , so they were as much in the dark , as the listeners were. No one seemed quite sure just how far reaching the blackout was , but one thing was clear , it's a massive one .
The blackout caused businesses lost vast amounts of money , and great inconvenience and hardship for ppl . As for me , it wasn't a big inconvenience , in fact , I quite enjoyed it ~ tho I was unable to reach home till 11:45pm !!!! But really , I found it to be very still and peaceful , and it was lovely to be able to see all the stars in the inky black sky .
Last nite , to mark the anniversary of the blackout , I shut off all the lights and sat in our garden . I watched the stars dancing in the sky once again , it was a beautiful nite.......
