TOMORROW NEVER COMES

Spent my whole lunch hr at Chapters yesterday . As I was about to leave after buying Randy Pausch’s “The Last Lecture ” ,  I was attracted  by a beautiful lil book .  Fortunately  the 61-page hardcover cost only 10.99 , so I didn't have to break my bank!
This morning after breakfast ,  I took this book out from the shelves and  read it thru.
When I started reading the book, there was a small lump in my throat. As I turned the first few pages, the lump grew bigger till I was choked wif emotion. .........
Before I go any further, I wanna ask you 3 questions: If you had one hour to live and only able to make juz 1 phone call, who would you call? What would you say? And why are you waiting?
Richard Carlson ~ author of the Don’t Sweat  The Small Stuffs series, who died all of a sudden  2 years ago @ the age of  45 ~  answered those questions  in a very inspiring , uplifting way and reminded us the importance of treasuring each day as the incredible gift that it is.
I think we might  live our lives differently if we paused and saw our lives from the end ~ but unfortunately we can't!!!!! And sadly,  most of us live in a blind world, running non-stop wif our heads down, chasing the wind. By the time we  stop to take stock of our lives, it's usually too late!!!!
"An Hour To Live, An Hour To Love" is  like a red light for us to pause for a moment, to stop what we are doing, review our lives and realize what really matters. It reminds us the importance of living every day as if it's ur last  and how important it is to communicate wif the dearest ppl in our lives . We need to make sure that all of our loved ones know how important they are to us. In this hyper kinetic, stressed-out world, we all know how easy it is to fail to do so.
The book ended wif Norma Cornett Marek's poem ~ TOMORROW NEVER COMES ~ which is always one of my faves.......
If I knew it would be the last time that I’d see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly, and pray the Lord your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time that I’d see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and a kiss and call you back for just one more.
If I knew it would be the last time I’d hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would tape each word and action, and play them back throughout my days.
If I knew it would be the last time, I would spare an extra minute or two,
To stop and say “I love you,” instead of assuming you know I do.
So just in case tomorrow never comes, and today is all I get,
I’d like to say how much I love you, and I hope we never will forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight.
So if you are waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes, you will sorely regret the day
That you didn’t take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss,
And you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today, and whisper in their ear,
That you love them very much, and you’ll always hold them dear.
Take time to say “I’m sorry,” , “Thank you,” or “I luv ya,”
And if tomorrow never comes, you’ll have no regrets about what you've do / haven't do.
