Tipping Should Not Be A MANDATORY Charge

I've noticed more and more restaurants in Toronto start tacking on an automatic 20 - 25%  to the bill  ~  it's something  I  always find really ridiculous  ~  By tacking the tip on ,  it's not encouraging
servers  to  providegood service but  mediocre  .  I believe while most people don't mind tipping  , they wanna be the one who decides ,  but not the restaurant.

Personally  ,  I really don't like the whole concept of tipping  ~   Really , providing proper service is a BASIC responsibility in servicing industry , why do customers have to tip them for just doing their job  RIGHT  ? Plus , restaurants , hair salons , hotels , etc.  should be responsible for paying  their employees properly  just like any other industry  .  Why should  customers   have to pay handsomely for the services and pay for their cost of doing business ? !   We have been brainwashed into believing that this is an acceptable way of conducting business .

Think about it  ,  bank teller ,  grocery clerk ,  counter server  of  fast food chains , health care professionals ..... they're all providing service , do we have to tip them as well  ?

I don't agree with people said that restaurants are working on tight margins   ~   really , when we're paying an average of $20 CAD for
an order of pasta I don't buy that they are not making enough money to pay their servers properly for their jobs .

Sure  ,  You may call me cheap but I  honestly don't  think customers obligate to pay extra for just ordinary service  ~  tipping should be an APPRECIATION for EXCEPTIONAL service above and beyond normal but not a MANDATORY charge !!!!
