I've been reading a lot about this topic lately . I don't know what do you think about this but it does infuriate me !!!!
What kind of twisted and sick society do we live in that choosing the genetic makeup of ur unborn child is now an option?! Sure , we all wish that our child is smarter and prettier than any other , yet would you really do such an unnatural and immoral thing ? ~ Seemingly we are challenging the High Power !
Too many people want to control things that are not meant to be controlled by the human power . Why not just let things go and trust that your child will be perfect the way he or she was intended to be ?! Every person has a purpose ~ whether you are rich or poor , pretty or ugly , smart or dumb .
So to reconfigure someone's genetic makeup to make them superior to someone else is to screw with the natural order of life in this world . It's already hard enough for an average person to live up to society's standard of beauty and education WITHOUT any damn " germ-line engineering " . Can't we just be comfortable with who we are ? Why do we want to excluding ourselves from normalcy ?!
Hypothetically speaking , what would happen if all the developed nations were populated with Barbies and Kens ?! What would happen to the rest of the world ? As if there's not already a large divide between the most developed countries in the world and those that are still struggling to survive . First , it is the great digital divide . And soon it will also be the superior human divide .
Perhaps , anything is possible in this illogical world ~ so don't be surprised if one day those scientists say they might be able to turn ur loveable poodle into the son or daughter you always wanted !!!
